Ponderings and Amusements

This is the place where I play around with the internet, just to see if I can make something happen. Sometimes these playful ponderings turn into useful applications, and helpful tools. And, I suppose, that means that sometimes they just remain playful things without much use. But I'd like to believe that more often than not, they're useful and helpful.

Freebies:

This stuff is free. Either it's free to use, because it's on the website, or free, as in, I'll give you the code. You'll know which is which, because some will have a link to the free zip file for download.

Not so Free:

This stuff did take some time to code, so I'd like a little return on my investment. None of these items are available for download; you'll have to contact me directly for the code.

  • Web Calendar, with email reminders.

Demos Only:

These are web applications I've developed for client/business websites. Some are items that are part of a larger project, and so are not quite ready for full deployment, but they show some of what I can do.

  • Task Module - part of a larger online organizational tool. Handles multiple users. Try both (userOne/user1) and (userTwo/user2). All tasks are deleted from the system every 15 minutes.
  • MyLibrary - a personal library system to track your books (i.e. check out, check in, etc.); this tool interacts with the Library of Congress query system that utilizes the MARC 21 XML Schema. If you have a barcode scanner, all you need do is scan the ISBN, and all form fields are entered for you.

The demos for all items will be up shortly.
